Professor Volker Schirrmacher from the IOZK opened the Symposium on Tumor Immunology at Kiel University with a talk about research on oncolytic viruses in conjunction with a personalized immunotherapy for cancer. On April 26, 2019, around 80 researchers from all over Germany met at the Kiel Science Centre for the 3rd Kiel Oncology Network Symposium. The topic of this year’s symposium was tumor immunology and the related chances and challenges for immunotherapies. The Kiel Oncology Network organizes this national symposium at Kiel University.
