Stefaan Van Gool MD. PhD., is a specialist in paediatric haemato-oncology with a focus on brain tumours. From 2001 to 2004, he was Chief Clinical Investigator at the Scientific Research Fund Flanders. Between 2006 and 2016, he held a full professorship at the Faculty of Medicine of the Catholic University of Leuven. From 2012 to 2015, he was head of the Paediatric Immunology Laboratory. He is the author of nearly 200 scientific articles in international journals.
In recognition of his scientific achievements, he was awarded a number of honours:
At the IOZK, he is the head of the medical team and is responsible for the planning and implementation of the IOZK immunotherapy. In drug manufacturing, he acts as a Qualified Person (GMP) and Responsible Medical Person.
